A reservation book is a large-format calendar that is used to record reservations .
Applications
Reservation books are used primarily in the catering industry , the hotel industry , in medical practices, sports and leisure facilities, by authorities and service providers. From a legal point of view, an accommodation contract comes into being " after a hotel room order is sent by fax and an entry is made in the hotel's reservation book intended for room reservations. "
Digital reservation books
In addition to analog reservation books, digital reservation books are increasingly being used, mostly via software or an online application (SAAS). Corresponding applications can be integrated into the homepage of the respective company, service provider or institution. They enable the user or the potential customer to make a reservation from a desktop PC or a mobile device. The user can be notified of an incoming reservation either via email or SMS. Other reservation systems, on the other hand, implement the new reservation directly via an entry in a stored calendar or a database.
