Resol (officially fully RESOL - Electronic Regulations GmbH ) is a company in the solar thermal industry based in Hattingen . It mainly produces control devices for solar thermal systems , but also for conventional heating systems. There are also complete stations for solar systems, fresh water stations as well as additional modules and various accessories. The company is 100% owned by the founder Rudolf Pfeil.

history

The company was founded in 1977 in Hattingen and began building solar controllers in the founder's private rooms. After a few years, the company headquarters was relocated to the neighboring Sprockhövel , and in 1998 a new building was moved into the Ludwigstal II industrial area in Hattingen-Holthausen . Another new building followed in 2007, and an extension to the first plant was opened in mid-2009. The total area is now 6600 m².

Resol currently has 160 employees and total sales in 2008 were 29 million euros (as of 2009).

Growth through process management

In the 32 years since it was founded, Resol has grown from a small company to a global market leader (source: Sun & Wind Energy Market Overview, Edition 2/2007) with 160 employees. In the last few years in particular, growth has increased enormously, which in 2008 led to a record sales growth of almost 80%.

This development was also made possible by intensive process management , which was implemented for the first time in 2005. With the help of a consulting company that has committed itself to converting to a synchronous production system based on the Toyota production system, the production department was converted from a manufacture to an efficient and flexible industrial company. Process chains have been streamlined, workplace layouts have been radically changed and lead times have been reduced enormously. Resol's sales have more than quadrupled since the introduction of the synchronous production system.

Locations

Research, development, production and administration take place at the main location in Hattingen.

Resol has its own subsidiaries in France and Spain as well as agencies in Great Britain, Sweden and Bulgaria. Authorized distributors also sell Resol products in Poland, the Czech Republic, Russia, the Netherlands, Portugal, Jordan, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, the USA, Canada and Japan.

Due to numerous strategic partnerships with companies that sell Resol products under their own name as OEM customers, the controllers from the Hattingen company can be found in over 50 countries worldwide.

Awards

For outstanding commitment to the generation and use of solar energy, the Solar Company 2001+ initiative awarded Resol the title “Solar Company 2000” in 2000.

In 2001 the company received the IF Design Award for the FlowCon Pro solar station . In 2008 the award went to Resol again, this time for the FlowCon D solar station .

The FlowCon Pro solar station also received the ISH Design Plus Award .

Various Resol products have received the Red dot design award from the Design Center North Rhine-Westphalia over the years , such as the RS600 MIDI and DeltaSol A solar controllers and the FlowCon S solar station .

At the Munich Intersolar trade fair in May 2009, the newly developed FlowCon Sensor solar station from Resol received the Intersolar Award in the solar thermal category.
