In sociological systems theory ( Niklas Luhmann ), resonance is a transfer option (for processes) between interconnected systems or between directly adjacent system components within a system due to the similarity of both.

Feedback assumes that

• similar system zones exist and
• there is a connection (for exchange) between them.

The resonance takes place in such a way that the temporal behavior in one zone passes or can pass over to the other. For example, company vacation plans are based on the school holidays of a federal state. In general, the more similar the two instances are, the better the transmission, and the less similar the more dissimilar. This is where the ability to merge (adaptation of the message and its medium ) plays the decisive role. Ease of repetition (= transfer without loss of energy) and the degree of social pressure transferred influence each other.
