Resumptive pronoun

A resumptive pronoun (or resuming forming pronoun) is a possessive , personnel or demonstrative that a preceding sentence topic repeated in the set. It is in the same place where the sentence topic would be if it weren't in front.

Examples of the use of sumptive pronouns in the German language :

Type of sumptive pronoun example
possessive pronouns The woman, we found her wallet.
Personal pronouns The teacher, I did n't tell him anything.
Demonstrative pronouns Watch out, the it has not comfortable.

Sumerian :

lugal-ak dumu- ani -ra
King genitive Children . Possessive pronouns - dative
"For the king's child" (lit .: "the king, for his child")
