Lifeboat service

The aim of the lifeboat service is to obtain a certificate of proficiency as a lifeboat man . The test is carried out by a technical supervisory officer of the Seeberufsgenossenschaft (SBG), today Knappschaft-Bahn-See . The lifeboat man has to prove that he all chores when launched the lifeboats and with their handling familiar as well as, in use, the belt is trained and qualified to understand the usual in the lifeboat service and execute instructions.

The certificate expires after ten years. The certificate of competence can be withdrawn beforehand if the owner does not meet the requirements during an inspection (boat inspection).
