Blast from Your Past is the fifth music album and the first compilation album by Ringo Starr after the Beatles split up . It was released in Great Britain (USA: November 20, 1975) on December 12, 1975.
History of origin
In October 1975, EMI released a compilation album entitled Shaved Fish by John Lennon; Ringo Starr's compilation album Blast from Your Past followed the following month, and again a year later, in November 1976, The Best of George Harrison was released . The three ex-Beatles did not renew their contract with EMI and released their next studio album on a different label. The compilation includes all US singles released to date, excluding (It's All Da-Da-Down To) Goodnight Vienna . Snookeroo is the only UK single A-side not included. The compilation album thus contains seven US top ten hits and four top ten hits from Great Britain. In addition, the album contains the song Early 1970, a single B-side of It Don't Come Easy and the album title I'm the Greatest .
Cover design
The cover was designed by Roy Kohara. The cover photos were taken by Emerson / Loew, the effects of the distortion were added by Daniel Catherine.
