Photographer: The Very Best of Ringo is the 25th album and the fourth compilation album, respectively the third best-of album by Ringo Starr after the separation of the Beatles . It was released in Great Britain (USA: August 28, 2007) on August 27, 2007.
History of origin
In October 1975, EMI released a compilation album entitled Blast from Your Past by Ringo Starr; almost 32 years later EMI / Apple released a compilation album with the title Photograph: The Very Best of Ringo , which, in addition to the entire content of Blast from Your Past, contains seven songs that had been published by Ringo Starr on other recording companies.
The first twelve songs on the album and Act Naturally were released by EMI, these contain seven US top ten hits (and five other top 100 hits), and four top ten hits from Great Britain. There are a total of 15 single A-sides, one single B-side, three promotional singles and an album title on the album.
The ranking of Photograph: The Very Best of Ringo in the UK charts was the second highest to date after the album Ringo . Photograph: The Very Best of Ringo is the seventh Ringo Starr album to be released on EMI.
The CD was mastered by Steve Rooke at Abbey Road Studios .
Cover design
The cover was designed by Paul Moore. The cover photos come from the photo archive of Capitol Records and Gene Trindl. The CD is accompanied by an illustrated 16-page booklet that contains extensive information on the songs and the album.
