Ringo Starr and His Third All-Starr Band Volume 1 is the 15th album or the third live album by Ringo Starr after the Beatles split up . It was released in the United States on August 12, 1997. The album was not released in Germany or Great Britain.
History of origin
After the release of the last live album Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band Volume 2: Live from Montreux in September 1993, Ringo Starr did not go on tour again until 1995 with his Third All-Starr Band . From June 14th to June 28th 1995 the All-Starr Band gave eleven concerts there. The concert in Tokyo was recorded on June 27, 1995 and released on CD by Blockbuster two years later. Only 10,000 copies were made, most of which were sold in Blockbuster stores. The concert was recorded by the Japanese television station NHK Television and broadcast on Japanese television on August 23, 1995.
The full program of concerts on the 1995 tour was as follows:
- Don't Go Where the Road Don't Go

Another USA tour followed with 42 concerts between July 2 and August 23, 1995.
After the album was released, the record contract with Blockbuster was not renewed in the USA , so that a possible follow-up album with the possible title Ringo Starr and His Third All-Starr Band Volume 2 was not (so far) published.
Six of the twelve songs on the CD were sung by Ringo Starr.
Cover design
The cover was designed by Studio Graph-X . The cover photos were taken by Henry Diltz . The CD is accompanied by an illustrated four-page booklet that contains information about the album.
