ICON is the 33rd music album and the sixth compilation album, respectively the fourth best-of album by Ringo Starr after the separation of the Beatles . It was released in the United States on September 9, 2014.
History of origin
In October 1975, EMI released a compilation album entitled Blast from Your Past by Ringo Starr; almost 32 years later EMI / Apple released a compilation album with the title Photograph: The Very Best of Ringo , which, in addition to the entire content of Blast from Your Past, contains seven songs that had been published by Ringo Starr on other recording companies. In 2014 another Best Of album was released by EMI / Universal Records with 11 songs. Seven or eight songs from the ICON CD are included on the album Blast from Your Past and Photograph: The Very Best of Ringo .
The album contains seven US top ten hits and four top ten hits from Great Britain. There are a total of nine single A-pages , a promotion single and a live track on the album .
Cover design
The cover designed Vartan and Meire Murakami. The cover photos are from Rob Shanahan. The CD is accompanied by an illustrated four-page booklet that contains information about the album.
