Reuterteich

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reuterteich is a hamlet in the community of Seedorf (Segeberg district) in Schleswig-Holstein . The settlement is about one kilometer south of the center of Schlamersdorf .

history

The small hamlet once belonged to Gut Seedorf and was ecclesiastically assigned to the Schlamersdorf parish. Originally the settlement that emerged from a single farm was called Rütersoll (= pond, standing water).

In an extract from the topography of the Duchy of Holstein from 1841, Reuterteich is mentioned as "Vollhufe" (Vollhof) and is considered to be part of Schlamersdorf.

Reuterteich used to be of great importance for the agriculture of the community of Seedorf. A private dairy established in 1912 was bought by a dairy cooperative in 1930, in which around 200 farmers owned shares based on the number of cows they had. Originally only butter and skimmed milk were made from the milk delivered. The processing machines were driven centrally by a steam engine, the exhaust steam of which was used to generate hot water.

After the end of the Second World War, the then operations manager, Bruno Wessel, considered using this exhaust steam even more effectively and thus heating a greenhouse. After the approval of the board of directors of the dairy and the then district administrator of the Segeberg district, a greenhouse for growing vegetable plants was built. After the currency reform, the nursery was sold to the Hamburg auditor, Franz Stolz, who later handed the business over to his wife. The proceeds from the sale were used to build a cheese dairy, which initially primarily produced Gouda cheese, and later Steinbuscher cheese and Tilsit cheese. After the dairy was closed, the dairy building was temporarily used by a fish smokehouse, and the commercial part has been empty since then.

Today the Reuterteich district consists of the former dairy building, the residential building of the former nursery and the Reuterteich farm. In the residential building of the Hofstelle, built around 1800, there has been a holiday apartment since 2011 after renovation.
