The Revolutionary Command Army ( Arabic جيش مغاوير الثورة Dschaisch Maghawir ath-Thawra , DMG Ǧaiš Maġāwīr aṯ-Ṯaura ), previously called the New Syrian Army , is a Syrian rebel group that emerged from deserters fromthe Syrian Arab Army and other rebels in the Syrian Civil War . Founded on May 20, 2015, it fought the Islamic State in southeastern Syria. With the help of the USA she became another member of the anti-IS campaign. In December 2016, the New Syrian Army disbanded and re-established itself under the name Revolutionary Command Army. The rebel group's allies include the United States , the United Kingdom , Norway and Jordan .

New Syrian Army

The New Syrian Army was founded on May 20, 2015 in al-Tanf , deployed in southeastern Syria, in the desert near Iraq and Jordan; their fighters were trained in Jordan. The army commander is Mohanad al-Talaa.

Revolutionary command army

On April 30, 2017, the Revolutionary Command Army launched an offensive into eastern Syria, reached the Deir ez-Zor governorate and captured the village of Humaymah. Two days later, the rebels attacked and captured several locations in the region, including Tarwazeh al-Wa'er, Sereit al-Wa'er, the T3 pumping station, Me'izeileh and Tarwazeh al-Attshaneh. On October 26, 2019, the US-led coalition announced that the Revolutionary Command Army had received 47 new recruits from a new basic training program. On December 27, 2019, several soldiers from Iranian militias in Al-Buamal, Syria, were killed and injured by a rocket attack by the Revolutionary Command Army in Badiyah, Syria.
