Revolutionary Guard (Libya)

The Libyan Revolutionary Guard was a Libyan military unit allegedly made up of members of the Guededfa tribe , including Muammar al-Gaddafi , and reporting directly to Gaddafi.

According to the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), around 3,000 soldiers served in the unit and had tanks, armored transports and surface-to-air missiles.

The Revolutionary Guards fought on the side of al-Gaddafi in the Libyan civil war .
