How a reception bell works by pressing it

A reception bell , also known as a table bell , is a small bell to call the staff at hotel receptions , rarely also doctors' offices, shops and craft businesses.

By pressing or turning the bell, a clapper is moved inside, which strikes against the housing and thus produces the bell sound.
