Rhinolith ( Rhin- gr. For nose, -lith gr. For stone, nasal stone) refers to an encrusted foreign body in the nose , which obstructs nasal breathing by obstruction of the nasal cavity . After the foreign body has penetrated and stayed in the nose, nasal secretions are gradually deposited on the foreign body. Layered drying creates crusts on the body. If the foreign body drains the secretion z. B. blocked from the sinuses, bacteria can multiply in the pent-up secretion . Because of the bacteria it contains or the pus that has formed , a foul smelling secretion can run out of the nose.
