Rhodium electrolytes

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rhodium electrolytes are rhodium-containing electrolytes that are used in electroplating to apply layers of rhodium to a surface. The rhodium baths used here are predominantly high in sulfuric acid , but there are also those with phosphoric acid or with sulfuric acid / phosphoric acid mixtures. The metal content is between 1.5 and 4 grams of rhodium per liter of bath. The thickness of the deposited layers is 0.1 to 0.2 µm in the decorative area; thicker layers can also be deposited in technical applications. The working temperature is between 25 and 50 ° C, depending on the type of bath. Rhodium layers are very hard and therefore not ductile .
