Rice Powell
Rice Powell (* 1955 in Belzoni , Mississippi ) is an American manager and has been CEO of Fresenius Medical Care since January 1, 2013 .
Life
Rice Powell studied biology at Mississippi College and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He began his professional career in 1978 in the pharmaceutical industry at Baxter Healthcare Corporation. He then moved to Biogen, Inc. as Vice President Quality Assurance & Quality Control. In 1996 he took on the position of Vice President Operations at Ergo Science, Inc. Powell has been with Fresenius Medical Care since 1997 and became a member of the Board of Management and General Manager in January 2004 appointed by Fresenius Medical Care North America. From 2010 to 2012 he was Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Fresenius Medical Care and the Management Board member responsible for the North America region. Powell is also a member of the Management Board of Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA .
