Richard Jebb

Sir Richard Jebb (* 1729 - † July 4, 1787 ) was a British medic.

Life

Richard Jebb was a son of the doctor Samuel Jebb. He studied medicine and received his doctorate in Aberdeen in 1751 ; In 1755 he received his licentiate from the College of Physicians. From 1754 to 1762 he was employed as a doctor at Westminster Hospital, after which he became a doctor at St. George's Hospital. He held this position until 1768, after which he mainly devoted himself to his extensive private practice. In 1771 he became a member of the College of Physicians. In 1778 he became a baronet , in 1780 he became the personal physician of the Prince of Wales . For a short time from 1786 he was also the royal physician, but was soon replaced by Sir George Baker .
