Teaching Safety Policy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The guidelines for safety in teaching (RiSU) of the Standing Conference is a 288-page set of rules for accident prevention in German schools.

It is usually published in a new version every three years (currently: June 14, 2019) and is divided into three sections:

  1. Binding regulations (pp. 11–76),
  2. Instructions and advice (pp. 77–117),
  3. Appendices (pp. 118–280).

By ordinance or law ( school law ), the RiSU is made a binding regulation in all 16 federal states, which must be observed when planning and conducting lessons. It is not only about the purely scientific subjects biology, chemistry, physics, but also about safety and avoidance of dangers in subjects such as art (solvents, soapstone), music (noise protection), works, technology, work theory, housekeeping, etc. Some federal states have one own RiSU, which differs slightly from the KMK-RiSU. In order to make it easier for teachers to use the RiSU, the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) has created an Internet presence where subject-specific problems can be clarified with a click of the mouse.
