The guidelines for the planning process and for the uniform design of design documents in road construction ( RE for short ) are a set of technical rules that are valid in Germany and deal with the uniform design of design documents for road construction measures.
The currently valid RE 2012 was introduced on October 2, 2012 by the Federal Ministry of Transport for federal road construction measures. It replaced the "Guidelines for draft design in road construction (RE 85)" and was drawn up by a federal state commission. The RE 2012 was subsequently introduced by the federal state ministries responsible for road construction for their respective business area.
