Rico Trute

Rico Trute (* 1970 ) is a former German American football player.

career

The 1.86 meter tall turkey played for the Braunschweig Lions from 1989 to 2005 and set a club record with 241 games. In August 2017, this record was exceeded by Christian Petersen . In 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2005, Trute , who was initially used as a quarterback and then as a defender ( defensive back ), won the Eurobowl with Braunschweig in 1999 and 2003 . Furthermore, he completed the 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 playing years with the team as the German runner-up. In 2001 he became European champion with the German national team. Professionally, Trute, who ran the fan article business of the Braunschweig Lions until he left competitive sport, works for a media agency in Gifhorn .
