Ride-along

When Ride-along is called the ride a civilian in a police - fire department - or rescue service -Auto. The passengers include potential young professionals, journalists or people who are otherwise interested in the day-to-day work of the services.

Usually, people must be over 18 years of age and have no previous convictions or be accused in ongoing proceedings. In 1991, however, the murderer Jack Unterweger, who had been convicted in Austria, managed to take part in a ride-along in Los Angeles using his Austrian press card , where three prostitutes - presumably by Unterweger - were murdered shortly afterwards.

Ride-alongs are offered in many countries, and they are particularly popular in the United States .
