Bolt switch contact

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A bolt switching contact ( RSK ) is an electrical switch contact (normally closed contact or switch), which in the region of the striker plate is installed in the frame of a door and the deadbolt of the door lock is actuated. It is thus possible for a downstream technology to evaluate whether the door is locked ("locked") or not.

This evaluation is particularly relevant in the special area of intruder alarm technology or in general in building management systems . In intrusion alarm technology, checking the external doors of an object for locking is part of the inevitability . It is not possible to arm the system if all doors are not locked and all windows are closed. This query serves on the one hand for additional security - you can be sure that all doors and windows are locked. On the other hand, this prevents an object with an armed burglar alarm system from entering through open windows or unlocked doors that can be accessed via an outside handle, thus triggering an alarm .

A bolt switch contact must be installed or adjusted in such a way that it is only actuated when the bolt of the door lock is extended by at least 20 mm. Only then is a door considered locked for insurance purposes.
