Rifts is a pen and paper role-playing game that combines multiple genres , developed by Kevin Siembieda in 1990 and published by Palladium Books . A mix of science fiction and fantasy RPG, Rifts is set 300 years after a world war-triggered apocalypse that led to the return of magic, Atlantis and invasions by supernatural monsters. Horror, westerns and other genres also provide elements.

Since the beginning, around 250,000 copies of the ledger have been sold and over 60 other books have been published for this system. In 2005, a second expanded edition was published with the Rifts Ultimate Edition . All products are only available in English, but they also have a large fan base in German-speaking countries.

  • A game called Rifts - Promise of Power was developed for the Nokia N-Gage , but it was not a great success due to the limited popularity of this game console .
