Kokane

Kokane (actually Jerry Long, Jr. ) is an American P-Funk - singer , rapper and songwriter from California .

Career

Kokane, son of Motown - composer Jerry Long, was already since the emergence of gangsta rap strongly with the hip-hop connected scene of the US West Coast. In 1991 he signed his first contract with Eazy-Es label Ruthless Records . There he wrote first on NWA's song Appetite For Destruction and worked on Above the Laws album Black Mafia Life . His first solo single, Nickel Slick Nigga was on the soundtrack of Deep Cover published, and on his - also have appeared in 1991 - debut album Who Am I? . His second album, Funk Upon A Rhyme , followed in 1994, but it did not sell to his satisfaction (although it was his most successful with number 54 as the top position in the US top R&B / hip-hop album charts by Billboard magazine ). Frustrated by this, he took a five-year break from the music business, which was only interrupted by occasional short guest appearances on works by other artists. In 1999, however, he came back with his third album They Call Me Mr. Kane (now on Eureka Records ), which also did not get much attention. However, this came when he made an appearance on Dr. Dr's hugely successful 2001 album . This led to the fact that he was signed by Snoop Dogg for his label Dogghouse Records and he participated in 8 of 19 songs on Snoop Dogg's album Tha Last Meal , mostly as the singer of the chorus. In 2005 and 2006 two more albums followed, Mr. Kane, Pt. 2 and Back 2 Tha Clap , and in between, also in 2006, the album The Hood Mob , which he recorded with Cricet and Contraband.
