Rinchenpung Monastery
The Rinchenpung Monastery or Rinchenpung Gompa is a monastery of the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism in Pemakö ( padma bkod ). It is located in the Zhumo Valley in Mêdog (Metog) County , Nyingchi Governorate , Tibet , upstream from the confluence of the river with the Brahmaputra . In the monastery there is a sacred image of the deity Hayagriva . In the Metog earthquake (or Assam earthquake ) in 1950 it was destroyed and later rebuilt.
