The Ringelsbruch estate is a listed former farm estate from the mid-19th century.

location

It is located 1 km north of Wewer , a district of Paderborn in North Rhine-Westphalia , directly at exit no. 27 of the Autobahn 33 and the B1.

history

The origins of Gut Ringelsbruch and its relation to culture and music have only been passed down orally. It is known, however, that the builder Heinrich von Köppen (1824–1894) had this estate built between 1850 and 1860. He used it as a location for his construction company, for materials, horses and wagons.

Heinrich von Köppen was married to Franziska Rosenkrantz (1831-1918) since October 1860. The daughter Anna Luise Elise von Köppen, later Countess von Hagenburg, was born on February 3, 1860 in Sankt Goarshausen.

After the builder's death in early February 1894, the property was only used as a summer residence by his bereaved family. The daughter of Köppens, Anna Countess von Hagenburg (1860–1932), who had been in a relationship with Otto Heinrich zu Schaumburg-Lippe since 1893 , inherited the estate after his death. Due to the renovation she carried out, however, the typical character of the country house was completely lost. In 1933 the ensemble became a country school home for girls from the Association of German Girls . The farm has been privately owned again since 1935.

use

In order to make sensible use of the farmyard even after the mechanization of agriculture, this listed manor complex is now available to citizens for a variety of events on a few special days ; from weddings and company anniversaries to public and cultural festivals, classical concerts and jazz brunches.

The close connection between music and the Ringelsbruch estate has always existed. In addition to the family of the well-known cellist Ludwig Hoelscher (1907–1996), the well-known pianist and “grandchildren” of Franz Liszt , Elly Ney (1882–1968), also spent part of her musical life at the Ringelsbruch estate.

nature

The main building ( mansion ) of the complex was created as a classicist country house over two floors with a mezzanine floor and an outside staircase on the park side.
