AS Trikala 2000 ( Greek ΑΣ Τρίκαλα 2000 ) was a Greek basketball team from the Thessalonian Trikala .

history

Trikala 2000 was created on September 13, 1999 when the two traditional clubs from Trikala "Danaos" and "Sporting" merged. The newly founded team then started under President Konstantinos Dais in the Gamma Ethniki, the fourth division of Greece. In 2003 Trikala won the championship and as a result rose to the "Beta Ethniki". In 2006 the club won the championship of the third division and in 2008 the championship of the second division ( A2 Ethniki ). Between 2008 and 2010 Trikala played in the top Greek league, which previously no team from Trikala succeeded.

After relegation in 2010, the club stopped playing due to ongoing financial problems.
