The ring Dagger is a dagger type of multiple centuries and demonstrate similarity with the ring knob sword has. A characteristic feature is an almost or completely closed ring instead of a knob at the upper end of the tang or the handle . A chain was hung in this ring, which connected the dagger to the chest part of the knightly armor.

Ring knob daggers date back to the 2nd half of the 14th century . A later variation, mostly as a mixed type between ring and disc dagger , occurs occasionally in the 15th century . These shapes usually have a polygonal ring knob with an inserted hollow cylinder and a handle thickened in the middle.
