A ring broadcast is a radio broadcast in which several television or radio stations are interconnected to form a direct broadcast and joint broadcast .

Individual or all broadcasters contribute to the program content. As a result, these transmitters extend their normally available reception radius over all participating transmission frequencies.

For the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF), the possibility of broadcasting ring programs is regulated by law. Section 3 (2) sentence 2 of the ORF Act (Federal Act on Austrian Broadcasting) reads: "Individual radio programs designed by the regional studios in which there is a particular public interest in information can also be broadcast across federal states (ring programs)."
