Ringwall Venne

The ring wall Venne is an archaeological monument in the Kottenforst near Bonn- Schweinheim.

The roughly rectangular ring wall with the rounded corners was created on the south side of the Vennegraben. It has a 7 m wide trench in front and a base width of 3 m.

The facility served as a refuge and dates from the early Middle Ages. Because of the finds inside, the complex will be dated 10th-12th centuries. Dated century. The houses inside were slated and the rampart fortified with a palisade .
