background
The album was created after Richard's legal battle with the BBC . About the title of the album he says: "I chose 'Rise Up' as the title track because after the bad period I went through in my life, I've managed to rise up out of what seemed like a quagmire". (German: "I chose 'Rise Up' as the title track, because after this bad period in my life I managed to get out of what seemed like a swamp.") Richard also hopes that the album will bring a younger generation to be discovered by listeners.
