Risshi-sha

Itagaki Taisuke

The Risshi-sha ( Japanese 立志 社 , dt. "Self-help society" or "Society for the fulfillment of desires") was an association of samurai in the wake of the Meiji Restoration and part of the movement for freedom and civil rights .

It was founded in Kōchi u. a. founded by Itagaki Taisuke . It was named after Samuel Smiles ' influential book Self-help ( Saikoku risshi hen ) and championed a. a. the formation of a unicameral parliament elected by the people. Disbanded in 1883.
