history

In 1986, after the nuclear reactor accident in Chernobyl , the hazelnut harvest for Ritter Sport chocolate in Turkey was contaminated. This was the trigger for the founding of the company in 1988. The aim was to make atomic energy superfluous and to switch to renewable energies . In 1996 the vacuum tube solar collector was introduced.

With the Chinese Linuo Group, the Ritter Group maintained the Linuo Paradigma joint venture from 2002 to 2015, which is one of the five largest manufacturers in the Chinese solar market. In 2000, Ritter Solar GmbH & Co. KG was founded for the production of vacuum tube solar collectors. In 2004 the Aqua Solar System , a water-bearing vacuum tube solar collector, was launched. In 2009 Ritter Energie- und Umwelttechnik GmbH & Co. KG entered the market as a holding company. In 2010 "Ritter XL Solar GmbH" was founded for the marketing of large-scale solar systems.

In 2012, Federal President Joachim Gauck and Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann visited the company in Dettenhausen.
