The RAS Holding SpA was an Italian insurance group based in Milan .

The company was founded on May 9, 1838 as Riunione Adriatica di Sicurtà in Trieste . In 1947 the headquarters were moved from Trieste to Milan. In the 1980s, 81 companies belonged to the RAS Holding.

The net profit of the RAS-Holding was 607 million euros in 2004 and 657 million euros in 2005.

The Allianz SE had participated already in the eighties to the RAS Holding. In 2005 a majority of 55 percent was taken over. In October 2005, Allianz SE submitted a takeover offer for the remaining 45 percent, thereby completely taking over RAS Holding. In October 2006 the merger with the German Allianz AG to form Allianz SE was completed. In the same month, more precisely on October 16, 2006, the listing of RAS Holding was also discontinued. The company was previously listed on the Italian Stock Exchange.

As part of a restructuring, Allianz merged the Allianz Subalpina , LLoyd Adriatico and RAS divisions on October 1, 2007 , and developed the new Allianz SpA .

The premium income for 2007 was 5,213 million euros for property insurance and 9,346 million euros for life insurance and the net result was 1,308 million euros.
