Road book

A road book is a path information for tours in the form of a table.

Road books are usually used on classic car, bicycle and motorcycle tours , often put in the bicycle bag or in the tank bag . There are now also road book holders on the market that are operated manually or electrically. The actual road book is a long roll of paper that runs over two spools in a special housing. Compared to road maps, road books have the advantage of being able to find their way more quickly and, compared to GPS devices, they are cheaper to buy.

Road books are usually read from top to bottom. Important waypoints are listed in a table. The information that a road book usually contains are: partial kilometers, total kilometers, directional arrow, direction, comment and directional information in text form.

The word is also used in rallying for the route description, the prayer book .
