Robert Krumbein

Robert Krumbein (born June 5, 1956 in Dormagen ) is a German SPD politician .

After graduating from high school in 1976, Robert Krumbein studied political science and law at the Universities of Bonn and Cologne from 1976 to 1986. In 1986 he passed the first state examination. From 1987 to 1990 he completed his legal preparatory service at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court. This was followed by the second state examination. From May 1990 to September 1992 he was a consultant for the social democratic community for local politics in North Rhine-Westphalia (SGK NW). From October 1992 to September 2008 he was Deputy Country Manager of SGK NW. During his time as a member of the state parliament from 1995 to 2000, he was on leave of absence from the SGK.

Robert Krumbein has been a member of the SPD since 1972. From 1981 to 2008 he was a member of the city council of Dormagen. From 1984 to 1989 he served as deputy chairman and from 1989 to 2008 he was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the council.

Robert Krumbein was a directly elected member of the 12th State Parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia for the constituency 051 Neuss II from June 1, 1995 to June 1, 2000 .

In April 2008 he was elected alderman for the city of Solingen. He took up the post in October 2008 and headed Department 3 Citizens Service, Law, Social Affairs, Security and Order until September 2015.

Since October 1, 2015, Krumbein has been working again in the Dormagen city administration. There he is responsible for the areas of safety and order, education and culture, as well as the fire brigade and rescue service. From January 2016 he will also take over the duties of the retired department head Gerd Trzeszkowski. These are the departments of youth, social affairs, housing and schools.
