Robert Małecki

Robert Małecki (* 1977 in Łódź ) is a Polish writer and journalist. Starting with the debut novel Najgorsze dopiero nadejdzie (2016), he published a crime trilogy set in his hometown of Toruń, with the journalist Marek Bener taking over the investigation. This was followed by a two-part crime series about Commissioner Bernard Gross. For their first volume “Skaza” Małecki received the Wielki Kaliber Award in 2019 , the highest Polish award for crime literature.

biography

Małecki studied political science and philosophy at the universities in Bydgoszcz and Toruń. He then worked as a journalist and editor for several regional daily newspapers. He currently works for the municipal utilities in Toruń, as well as the chairman of the "Kult Kultury" foundation .
