Robert Stahl
Robert Stahl (born September 5, 1902 in Hagen ; † August 16, 1975 ) was a German trade unionist and social democratic politician.
Stahl trained as a carpenter. Between 1918 and 1933 he was a functionary in the German Woodworkers Association. Between 1928 and 1933 he was a member of the inner committee of this union. Stahl was also a member of the SPD from 1922 and between 1926 and 1933 he held various functions in the party.
In 1946, Stahl first became head of department at the Duisburg employment office and in 1947 moved to Hahn's works as labor director . Since 1946 he was chairman of the district association Duisburg- Hamborn of the SPD. He was also a member of the Council of the City of Duisburg and from October 1946 to October 1948 mayor.
In 1946 and 1947, Stahl belonged to the appointed state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . Afterwards he was directly elected member of the state parliament for the constituency of Duisburg-Hamborn in the first two legislative periods.
