Robert Wychera

Robert Wychera (born July 20, 1937 ) is an Austrian lawyer . As a bank manager , he was general director of Österreichische Volksbanken-Aktiengesellschaft , deputy general director of Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich and board member of Oikocredit Austria.

Life and education

Wychera studied law , completed the court year from 1960 to 1961 and then joined the cooperative central bank (later Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich). He is married to Hedwig (born April 3, 1939).

Professional activity

Wychera was employed by the cooperative central bank from 1961 to 1979, most recently as credit director. In 1979 he was appointed General Director of the Österreichische Volksbanken-Aktiengesellschaft and he held this office until October 31, 1985. From 1986 to 1991 he was managing director of Raiffeisen-Leasing, from 1987 to 1991 member of the board of directors of Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich, where from 1988 he was also deputy general director. In 1991 Wychera retired at the age of 54.

Development aid commitment

In his retirement, Wychera was involved in development projects in the Vienna Development Aid Club with responsibility for the Village Reconstruction Organization in India. From 1996 to 2002 he was a board member of the international board of Oikocredit, an ecumenical development credit union that provides loans to unbankable poors in the south. From 2002 to 2008 he was chairman of the board of Oikocredit Austria, which was organized as an association.
