Robert Zweiker

Robert Zweiker (born April 10, 1964 in Graz ) is an Austrian internist , cardiologist and intensive care doctor . Zweiker teaches as a university professor at the Medical University of Graz , where he is also the second deputy chairman of the works council for the scientific staff. Since October 3, 2013, Zweiker has also been a member of the university's Senate.

Zweiker did his doctorate between 1988 and 1989 on the subject of " blood pressure measurement and left heart hypertrophy " at the cardiology department of the University of Graz where he worked until 2012. In 1997 he became a specialist in internal medicine and two years later he specialized in cardiology . In 2002 , Zweiker completed his habilitation in internal medicine. In 2013 he became Primarius of the Department of Internal Medicine at the LKH Deutschlandsberg . He only held this position for a few months and returned to the Univ. Clinic Graz back. Zweiker is currently working as a senior physician in the clinical department for cardiology at the University Clinic for Internal Medicine in Graz. Since 2013, Zweiker has also been a main member of the Medical University's Senate . In the same year he was appointed university professor.

Zweiker is a member of numerous national and international specialist societies. He is also involved in the "Herz.Leben" project, which is part of the cardiology department of the Univ. Graz Hospital offers training for high blood pressure patients. Zweiker was awarded the Otto Loewi Prize of the Austrian Society for Hypertensiology in 2000, on whose advisory board he is active.
