Aleste ( Japanese ア レ ス タ ) is a series of shoot-'em-up games from the game manufacturer Compile . The first part appeared in 1988 for MSX2 home computers. In Europe and the USA, the games for the Sega Master System were published under the name Power Strike . The game principle of the series is based on the game Zanac , which was also developed by Compile.

General

Aleste is a vertically scrolling shoot 'em up game. The player takes control of an airplane or a flying mech . The game is divided into several levels , at the end of which a final boss must be defeated.

The game principle has remained largely the same in all parts of the series. Smaller differences can be found, for example, in the special weapons available.
