Rocksmith

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rocksmith is a video game series from Ubisoft in which the player plays with an electric guitar or bass . The last version of Rocksmith 2014 was released in 2013.

Gameplay

The aim of the game is to hit notes and chords at the right time and to accompany pieces of music in the style of other rhythm games such as guitar hero or rock band . The player has to play with a real electric guitar , the audio signals of which are converted by an adapter (real-tone cable) and interpreted by the game. If the tone played corresponds to the required tone, this is recognized by the game and included in the assessment of the player.

The skills of the player increase the number and complexity of the notes to be played through a dynamic level of difficulty up to the so-called "master mode" in which the respective song is played "blindly". In contrast to Guitar Hero or Rock Band, the player will sooner or later be able to play the songs completely by himself. So Rocksmith can also be called a learning program for guitarists.

Versions

Rocksmith was released in the United States in 2011. The first expansion, in which the player could also play bass, was released in Europe along with the main game in 2012. Rocksmith 2014 was released worldwide in 2013 for Xbox 360 , PlayStation 3 , PC and Mac .
