Rocky Mountain Bicycles is a Canadian bicycle manufacturer . The company is part of the Procycle Group, which produces bicycle accessories as well as bicycles.

history

After two men in the basement of a bike shop in Vancouver equipped Nishiki racing bikes with wide tires, straight handlebars and 5-speed gear hubs from 1978 in the basement of a bike shop in Vancouver to make them suitable for the difficult terrain of the Canadian west coast, the company Rocky Mountain Bicycles Ltd was officially founded in 1981 , its president was Grayson Bain. In 1982 the company launched its first own mountain bike, the “Sherpa”, the frame of which came from frame construction expert Tom Ritchey . After expanding sales beyond Vancouver in 1984, Rocky Mountain began supplying customers around the world in 1989. Rocky Mountain has been part of the Procycle group since 1997 , but continues to work independently.

Products

Rocky Mountain is known for its mountain bikes and produces a wide range of models for a wide variety of riding styles and disciplines. Since 2011 the company has offered more than 30 different models.

Rocky Mountain invented technologies like the Ride-9 system & the RTC geometry (Race Tuned Concept).
