from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Roger Perrinjaquet (* before 1935 ; † March 9, 2000 ) was a Swiss inventor . He is considered the inventor of the electric blender (hand blender ).

Invention of the hand blender

In 1950 Perrinjaquet applied for a patent for an “appareil ménager portatif” (German: portable kitchen appliance). The new mixer was named Bamix as an abbreviation from the French “battre et mixer” (German: to beat and mix). In 1954 Perrinjaquet sold his patents to ESGE AG, which had been founded a year earlier by Messrs. Gschwend and Spingler. From the end of 1954 this company produced the first hand blenders in their factory in Germany. According to information from ESGE AG, Perrinjaquet described the world's first portable hand blender with his patent in 1950.

Today ESGE AG in Mettlen / Switzerland produces the Bamix as well as the ESGE magic wand (for Germany) 100% in Switzerland. We sell the Bamix in more than 40 countries through mostly exclusive distributors.

Other patents

Perrinjaquet has created other patents, such as a sewing machine called the Drop-Head Machine on February 17, 1959 .
