Rohilla

The Rohilla are a tribe originating from the Afghan raw.

During the rule of the Mughals they immigrated to northern India and, after their power fell, they dominated areas in the west of what is now Uttar Pradesh . The Rohilkhand region bears her name. Faced with attacks by the Marathas , they later formed an alliance with Oudh , but were defeated by the British East India Company and annexed their territory in 1774 .
