Pipe skeleton

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tube skeleton (also endoskeletal construction ) is the construction of prostheses that is common today , especially in the area of the lower extremities. In contrast to the shell construction ( exoskeletal construction ), the functional elements are separated from the shaping elements of the prosthesis.

The tubular frame takes on the load-bearing function, the foam cladding restores the natural appearance. With the modular tubular skeleton, the tubular skeleton consists of different modules that are easily reproducible and interchangeable, making the prosthesis adaptable, for example to changes in the user's weight or activity level.
