Roland Marais
Roland Pierre Marais (* around 1685 in Paris ; † around 1750 there) was a French viol player and composer .
Roland Marais was the fourth of 19 children of the well-known viol player Marin Marais , several of whom were well-known viol players or teachers. Roland Marais was the most famous among them. He published two collections of works for viol, following the style of his father's works, as well as a teaching method for beginners. Johann Joachim Quantz , who heard him in 1729, described him as a skillful artist.
