As a storm from November 11, 1954, Weißflog belonged to the squad of the newly founded SC Empor Rostock . In the first game on November 14, 1954 against BSG Chemie Karl-Marx-Stadt , he was still a substitute. For his only use in the GDR league he came on December 4, 1955 in a 4-1 against ZSK Vorwärts Berlin .
