Roman is a family-run, traditional Belgian brewery in the East Flanders village of Mater in Oudenaarde . The brewery is a member of the Belgian Family Brewers . In 2014, 84,000 hl of beer were brewed.

history

The founding father of the Roman family brewery was Joos Roman, who ran the De Clocke brewery in the village of Mater on the trade route between Germany and France in 1545 .

Today the business is run in the twelfth generation by Louis Ch. J. Roman. The brewery, which was originally operated as a sideline, was developed into a flourishing brewery.
