Roman Gombotz

Roman Gombotz (* 1911 ; † unknown) was an Austrian musical instrument maker , musician and conductor .

In 1948 he founded a manufacture for accordions in Köflach . He also traded in musical instruments. He acquired the knowledge for the production of Styrian harmonicas via detours. A close friend of Peter Stachl's in Graz by the name of Valentin Mörth from Mureck taught Roman Gombotz the necessary skills from 1933 to 1938.

Only 88 instruments were made in total. From 1981 the production of harmonica was continued by the son Roman and the grandson Ulfried Gombotz . Ulfried Gombotz was trained by Peter Müller . This information comes from Ulfried Gombotz. Received instruments are also evidence of this.

The harmonica production was stopped in 1991.
